Somlea Maternity : Oregon Maternity Photographer

I just love when months of planning for a session to make it perfect actually falls in place perfectly!  Raluca and Dan were up for anything, and that says a lot when Ralu is so close to her due date!  As they await the arrival of their first child, you can sense the strong anticipation & excitement for him to make his way into the world.

We started off their session in the studio, then were blessed with a few sunny rays, so we ran outside to capture them! Thank you Raluca & Dan for choosing me to document this very special time in your lives, a time you will be able to look back on,  and see the connection that started it all. There is something so sweet and simple about newborn photography. I like to strip away all the excessiveness of props and simplify the stills as much as possible. There are so many great newborn photographers that I could just hope to be as talented as someday. However, growing into my own style has really shaped the way I look at newborn photos and am just loving taking on the sweet and simple approach. 

Baby Mihaela is 9 days old in these photos. Big Brother Samson will have a hard job on his hands, keeping her safe and protected! We snapped photos of Samson (which he LOVED) and some of the two of them as well!

When I heard that my sister in law was in labor, I was at the beach coordinating a wedding. I was praying that he wouldn't show up for another 24 hours! I know, that's selfish of me but I REALLY wanted to be there! Well, he came pretty quickly! And I was still able to go see him the next day! What a joy! First time being an aunt and my parents are new grandparents! We are so excited to have Charlie in our lives and can't wait to take more photos of him!
